II.Use of personal data

We only collect or process your personal data if you provide it to us voluntarily, for example when you use the web form for project presentation. Data processing is based on your consent. You can revoke this consent at any time. We only use your personal data to provide you with the selected application or service.

III. Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small files that we send to the browser of your device when you visit our website and which are stored there. These enable us to perform various analyses. Cookies are able, for example, to recognise the browser you are using when you visit our website again and to transmit various information to us. Cookies enable us, among other things, to make our website more user-friendly and effective for you by tracking your use of our website and your preferred settings (e.g. country and language settings, as well as easy language and sign language). Cookies do not cause any damage to your device. They cannot execute programmes and do not contain viruses.

Various types of cookies are used on our website, the nature and function of which are explained in more detail below.

Legal basis

The processing of personal data by cookies used on this website, which are necessary for the technical operation of the website, is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The use of all other cookies is only permitted after the user has been asked for and given their consent via the cookie privacy settings displayed. The data processing initiated in this way is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR.

Storage period:

As soon as the data transmitted to us via cookies is no longer required for the purposes described above, this information is deleted.

Browser settings:

Most browsers are preset to accept cookies by default. However, you can configure your browser so that it only accepts certain cookies or no cookies at all. However, we would like to point out that you may no longer be able to use all the functions of our website if cookies are deactivated on our website through your browser settings. You can also delete cookies already stored in your browser via your browser settings. Furthermore, it is possible to set your browser to notify you before cookies are stored. As the various browsers may differ in their respective functions, we ask you to use the respective help menu of your browser for the configuration options. If you would like a comprehensive overview of all third-party access to your Internet browser, we recommend installing specially developed plug-ins for this purpose.

IV. Usage Data

Every time you access the website, data is recorded in a log file. The following data is collected:

  • the page from which the file was requested,
  • the name of the file,
  • the date and time of the request,
  • the amount of data transferred,
  • the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.),
  • a description of the type of web browser used

In accordance with the principle of data minimisation, the personal data ‘IP address’ is not stored. However, the website integrates individual services that store or analyse your IP address. Their nature and function are explained in more detail below.

The access logs on the web servers are stored for 7 days for the purpose of tracking and analysing unwanted external influences on the websites or servers (denial-of-service attacks, flood of requests from unwanted search engines, intrusion or compromise attempts, etc.). We also use the data to optimise the website and to ensure the security of our IT systems. The data is not evaluated for marketing purposes in this context.

Legal basis for processing:

The legal basis for the temporary storage of data is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.

Duration of storage:

The data is deleted after 7 days, as the log files are no longer required to achieve the purpose for which they were collected.

Right to object and right to erasure:

The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files is essential for the operation of the website. Consequently, there is no possibility for the user to object.

V. OpenStreetMap

We use the map service provided by OpenStreetMap (OSM). The provider is the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF), 132 Maney Hill Road, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, B72 1JU, United Kingdom. When you visit a website that uses OpenStreetMap, your IP address and other information about your behaviour on this website will be forwarded to the OSMF. OpenStreetMap may store cookies in your browser or use similar recognition technologies for this purpose.

Furthermore, your location may be recorded if you have allowed this in your device settings, e.g. on your mobile phone. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transfer. For details, please refer to the OpenStreetMap privacy policy.

OpenStreetMap is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offerings and to make it easy to find the locations we specify on the website. If corresponding consent is requested (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.

VI. Project Presentation

On our website, we offer users the opportunity to present their funded projects. To do so, they must fill out a web form with their personal data. VII. Mapp Intelligence

We use the web analytics service ‘Mapp Intelligence (Webtrekk Analytics)’ from Webtrekk GmbH on our website to collect statistical data about the use of this website and to optimise the service accordingly. This is a statistics programme that records usage anonymously. The use of Mapp Intelligence enables us to anonymously analyse user behaviour, for which information transmitted by your browser is collected and evaluated.

Cookies are also used within the scope of Mapp Intelligence. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. For example, information about the operating system, browser, your IP address, the website you previously visited (referrer URL) and the date and time of your visit to our website is collected. The information generated by this text file about the use of our website is transferred to Mapp servers in Germany and stored there; it is not merged with other data or passed on to third parties.

All evaluations are carried out anonymously, i.e. personal identification features are replaced by a label for the purpose of excluding or significantly impeding the identification of the data subject. The IP address is only stored in abbreviated and thus anonymised form and is only used for session recognition, geolocation (up to city level) and to defend against attacks. The IP address is then immediately deleted, so that the data collected is anonymous and cannot be traced back to the identity of the user, even via the Internet service provider.

Legal basis for data processing:

The processing of personal data via the cookies used is based on the consent requested and granted via the cookie privacy settings displayed, in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. Furthermore, the improvement in the user-friendliness of the website made possible by the data analysis constitutes a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.

Purpose of data processing:

The processing of anonymised user data enables us to analyse the surfing behaviour of our users on our website for statistical purposes. By evaluating the data obtained, we are able to compile information about the use of the individual components of our website. This helps us to continuously improve our website and its user-friendliness.

Right to object:

You can object to the collection and storage of data by Mapp Intelligence at any time with future effect. To do so, please click on the following link:

I would like to be excluded from web analysis by Mapp Intelligence.

By confirming the link, a so-called opt-out cookie (webtrekkOptOut) is set on your data carrier. Please note that if you delete all cookies on your computer, this opt-out cookie will also be deleted, i.e. if you wish to continue to object to the anonymous collection of data by Mapp Intelligence, you must save the opt-out cookie again. The opt-out cookie is set per browser and computer. If you visit our website from home and work or with different browsers, you must activate the opt-out cookie in the different browsers or on the different computers.
